Our Primate

The Most Reverend Michel Joseph Pugin, O.S.B.

The Most Reverend Michel Joseph Pugin, O.S.B. has been a Benedictine Monk of the Congregation of Solesmes for almost 40 years and is the founder and first Primate Bishop of Catholic Church in America, along with the Most Reverend Kenneth C. Rosato who was a young priest at the time. In 2014 the Church took on a new name and is now called the National Catholic Apostolic Church in the United States (non-Roman) following the ideals of Dom Carlos Duarte Costa.

He has been a pastor, professor, chaplain, lecturer and spiritual Director/Counselor. He was also on the Board of Directors for the first hospice for AIDS/HIV persons in Ottawa, Canada, in the mid 80's.

Bishop Michel is following the call of the Lord in devoting his God-given energy in promoting peace and harmony. He is often involved in Inter-Faith dialogue and has done so through Temple Adath Or, Center for Jewish Renewal and JAM and All Faiths, which promotes peace between all Faiths in South Florida.

In 2010, Bishop Michel traveled to Haiti after the terrible devastating earthquake to help restore RENMEN Foundation and to be a spiritual father to the children.

Bishop Michel continues to travel mostly to Central and South America, Africa and Europe establishing and building up the Kingdom of God, in following the prayer of Jesus; "That they all be one, as you and I Father are one."
